About the companies history

In the year 1843 Fritz Scheller founded his spirit-distillery and liquor-production in the small town of 'Dornholzhausen', 10 years later moved to Bad Homburg.

During 1883 a commercial official document reports the company as dealing with "vinegar-, mustard- and liquor-production, liquors and essences of of all kinds in elegant packaging.".

Around 1934 the company was split in two: the vinegar-production was taken over by Melita, owned by the Brothers Weymar. The liquor-production was taken over by Heirich Becker, who had started in 1893 as an apprentice in the Scheller-company.

Alfred Fackel took over the spirit-production in the year 1968 and the production facility moved to Frankfurt.

Finally, in 1997, Reich-Post-Bitter came back to Bad Homburg. The Alles Bros. took over the traditional brand that celebrates its 155th anniversary in 1998.
